Patrick Spuhler (1966) is a founding partner of Prevanto AG. As an accredited occupational pensions actuary, he holds numerous actuarial mandates for various large and medium-sized pension institutions in a variety of industries, including cantonal pension funds.

In 1992, Patrick Spuhler completed his studies in biochemistry at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel as dipl. phil. II and, since 1996, has been a Swiss-certified pensions insurance expert.

From 2005 until the establishment of Prevanto AG in 2015, Patrick Spuhler was head of Swisscanto Pensions Ltd. Basel. Until the takeover of the “Actuarial Benefits & Insurance Solutions” department by Swisscanto Pensions Ltd. in 2005, Patrick Spuhler was employed as a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers as head of PwC’s pension fund advisory services based in Basel. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years as a pension fund adviser for various consulting firms as deputy director and a member of management.

Patrick Spuhler has more than 30 years of experience in the Swiss pensions market and, in addition to the traditional actuarial consultancy business, specialises in pension institutions under public law. He has conducted numerous training sessions for foundation boards and has acted as a guest speaker at supervisory meetings and training events several times. As a long-standing expert in the pensions market, combined with his broad technical knowledge, he provides valuable and comprehensive services for his customers.

Patrick Spuhler is a member of the Swiss Chamber of Pension Actuaries, a member of the Swiss Association of Actuaries. In addition, as a representative of the Chamber, he was a member of the Swiss BVG Commission. As a representative of the pension fund association, ASIP, he was a member of the management committee of the second pillar guarantee fund. He is also a board member of the association for pension funds and BVG information in the region of Basel (Verein für Pensionskassen- und BVG-Auskünfte der Region Basel).
